NRA First Steps Shotgun

SAFETY CLASS: BASIC TARGET SHOTGUN
No prior firearms experience is required. 

DESCRIPTION:  

This beginning-level class is an introduction to safety, maintenance and use of the shotgun for target shooting.

  Classroom will focus on:

  •   Safe gun handling
  •   Clay target shooting techniques
  •   Care of target firearm

   Range work will:

  •    Involve safe use of live ammunition to break clay targets in flight. 

Students may bring their own shotguns, or use one provided by the NRA-certified course instructors. 
AGES:  12 through Adult.  Students under age 18 MUST attend with a legal guardian. 
COST:  $65, includes books, targets, ammunition, cleaning materials and use of shotguns if needed. 
CLASS SIZE:  Each session is limited to twelve students; register early, as classes fill quickly. 
CLOTHING:  Portions of the class are outside; dress for the weather. 
LOCATION:  Fenton Lakes Sportsman’s Club, 1140 Butcher Rd, Fenton.  Classes meet in the Clays Building, NOT in the Main Clubhouse (follow signs on right side of main parking lot). For directions to FLSC, Click Here
