MICHIGAN CPL RENEWAL CLASS

Students can satisfy MI CPL renewal requirements by auditing 

our standard CPL (NRA Peronal Protection in Home) class.

A stand alone renewl class may be offered if demand is high.

Course Length:

Michigan requires an applicant to complete a mínimum three hours of course review and a mínimum of one hour live fire range time anytime within the six month period occurring prior to submitting your renewal application.  Students auditing our standard CPL class will, at a mínimum, attend the LEGAL lesson and participate in the range live fire exercises.  Attendance for all remaining lessons is encouraged and allowed.

                 Course Prerequisites: 

Student must posses either a currently valid MI CPL or a MI CPL that is not expired for more than 12 months.

Students with a CPL expired more than 12 months are required by law to retake the entire class. No discount is offered when CPL is expired for more than 12 months.

MANDATORY

·       Basic Defensive Handgun Skills

·       Firearms and the Law: Possession, Ownership, and the use of Deadly Force

 

OPTIONAL

·       Introduction to Defensive Shooting

·       Strategies for Home Safety and Responding to a Violent Confrontation

·       Selecting a Handgun for Self-Defense

·       Sport Shooting Activities and Training Opportunities

!!!!! What Student Needs to Bring to Class !!!!!

 

·       A handgun in good working order.

-Recommended are either double action revolvers or semi-automatics

-Recommended minimum caliber is 38 special or 9mm.

-NO magnum ammo allowed (i.e. 357 mag, 44mag, 357 Sig).

·       (2) speed loaders for revolvers or minimum (2) magazines for semi-autos.

·       (50 - 100) rounds of Ammo.

·       Ear & Eye Protection.

·       Note pad & pen/pencil.

·       Ball Cap

·       Optional Items
