Range Rules & Procedures

Safety First — Always

All members and guests must read and follow these rules.

Violation of range rules may result in loss of membership privileges. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Always check the club calendar for closures due to events, league shoots, or police training.

NRA Fundamental Safety Rules

ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.

ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

General Range Rules — All Ranges

1

Eye and ear protection is REQUIRED on all ranges at all times when shooting is in progress.

All shooters must sign in at the range before shooting.

No alcohol or drugs are permitted before or during shooting.

All firearms must be unloaded and cased when being transported to and from the range.

5

Cease fire immediately when anyone calls "CEASE FIRE."

Never handle firearms when anyone is downrange.

All shooters must shoot from the designated firing line.

Clean up your area when finished. Pick up all brass and dispose of targets properly.

Report any unsafe conditions or behavior to a Range Safety Officer.

No rapid fire unless specifically authorized for the event.

Guests must be accompanied by a member at all times.

Members are responsible for the actions of their guests.

No cross-firing between lanes or shooting positions.

All firearms malfunctions must be handled at the firing line with the muzzle pointed downrange.

Indoor Pistol/Rifle Range Rules

Indoor Range Specific Rules

Maximum caliber: .45 ACP for handguns. Rifle calibers .22lr only.

NO magnum rounds allowed (e.g., .357 Mag, .44 Mag, .357 SIG).

NO steel core, armor piercing, incendiary, or tracer ammunition.

NO shotguns on the indoor range.

Shoot only at your own target in your own lane.

Do not shoot at target frames, carriers, ceiling, floor, or walls.

All shots must impact the backstop/bullet trap.

Maximum of 2 shooters per lane.

NO magnum ammunition is allowed on the indoor range. This includes .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .357 SIG, and similar high-pressure cartridges.

Outdoor Rifle & Pistol Ranges

Outdoor Range Specific Rules

All shooting must be directed into the berms/backstops.

No shooting at trees, posts, or any structure.

Targets must be placed so all rounds impact the berm.

Ground-level targets are not permitted — use target stands.

Steel targets must be approved by the club and placed at proper distances.

No aerial shooting (shooting at thrown objects).

Observe all posted range-specific rules at each outdoor range.
