About the Course

STOP THE BLEED is a U.S. Department of Defense program designed to empower bystanders to act as immediate responders in a bleeding emergency. Severe bleeding can kill within minutes, so this course teaches practical steps that can help save a life before emergency responders arrive.

What You'll Learn

  • How to recognize life-threatening bleeding
  • How to apply direct pressure
  • How to pack a wound with gauze or available material
  • How and when to apply a tourniquet

Students Will Receive

  • Hands-on bleeding-control training
  • Practical emergency response skills

Class Procedures

Students should arrive prepared for a three-hour hands-on training class.

This course focuses on three core bleeding-control techniques: applying direct pressure, packing a wound with gauze or available material, and using a tourniquet when needed.

No firearms or ammunition are required for this class.
